Mango-Yogurt Parfait
I like to use kamut, a nutrient-dense ancient grain and type of wheat, in this recipe. Kamut cereal is unsweetened but gives a nice added crunch, which I think is so necessary in a good parfait.
Ingredients
1 cup plain yogurt
1/2 tablespoon honey or agave nectar
1/2 cup dry cereal (kamut or other ancient grain)
1/2 cup fresh mango chunks
Preparation
Whip yogurt with honey to sweeten.
In a tall glass, alternate layers of 1/2 cup yogurt, 1/4 cup cereal and 1/4 cup fruit.
Makes one serving.
Yogurt-Honey-Turmeric Face Mask
In the wintertime, skin can take on a dull appearance. The turmeric in this mask works to brighten the skin, while honey soothes inflammation and yogurt helps to fight against signs of aging by reducing the appearance of fine lines.
Ingredients
1 tablespoon plain yogurt
1 teaspoon turmeric
1 teaspoon honey
Preparation
Mix ingredients until well-blended. It’s best to apply the mask with a makeup brush or while wearing gloves, to avoid staining fingers and nails.
Leave mask on for 15 minutes, then rinse it off in the shower.
Makes one mask.
*Please note the time of the mask do not leave on for more than 15 minutes.
